This straight cut habotai silk is super soft and drapy. Edges are slightly frayed due to the ribbon being cut strsight along the grain of the fabric.
The silk is dyed with indigo by us in Cornwall, UK, using traditional shibori techniques. As a hand-dyed process there may be flecks and imperfections which we believe add to the character of the silk and ensure you have unique product. The ribbons comes presented on a hand crafted wooden spool, made with sustainable wood. The spools contain 6 metres of ribbon at 3.4 cm (1.5 inch) width, with no joins or seams, and a gently frayed edge that will soften with use. There may be a few stray filaments of silk that will come away during use.
We have taken every precaution to ensure the ribbons are colourfast in cold water, but we would advise carrying out your own tests for colourfastness. Store in a dark environment. Due to the organic and handmade nature of this product, small imperfections may be visible in both the fabric weave and dyeing.
Iron on a medium setting.
